Pause Nutrition is run by dietitian Kara Roberts who specialises in helping women through an intuitive eating approach make sustainable nutrition and lifestyle changes, with a particular focus on perimenopause. The ‘pause’ in the business name therefore has many meanings but leans into our focus on perimenopause, menopause and supporting women to take a much needed break in their busy lives to start reconnecting with their bodies and prioritising their health.

Perimenopause (also known as the ‘menopause transition’) can hit us unexpectedly at a time when our lives are already chaotic. You have no idea what is happening to your body, moods and brain and when you look for help you may experience dismissiveness or false promises.

As a dietitian and experienced academic, Kara utilises an evidence-based approach incorporating behaviour and mindset therapy for tailored and wholistic support that empowers you to regain a sense of control and make changes for today, tomorrow and into the future. This CAN be a stage of life where you thrive!

I will help you cut through the noise of perimenopause, menopause and weight loss messaging with nutrition support that incorporates behavioural science and intuitive eating. My approach does not include rigid meal plans or strict food rules such as macro counting due to the simple fact that they Do NOT Work long term and can in fact cause harm.

I support women to harness the huge power that comes with taking a pause to reconnect, understand and create a nourishing relationship with their bodies and food on their own terms. I recognise that every women is the true expert of her body and her experience. My counselling approach therefore utilises motivational interviewing to ensure clients leave any session with me feeling both empowered and informed.

As a dietitian with over 10 years experience, I am able to support women to optimize nutrition across a range of coexisting conditions and/or nutrition-related concerns including:

  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)

  • Dietary adaptations for improved mental health
